Skincare routines, without the 12-step theater

The correct order, the minimum that works, and the exact product to reach for at each step — with honest picks and live prices.

Most routine advice fails in one of two directions. It either buries a three-product answer under a ten-step ritual designed to sell you ten products, or it hand-waves 'cleanse, treat, moisturize' without telling you what any of that means when you are standing in front of a shelf. We do neither. A routine is a small number of decisions — how to clean your skin without stripping it, what one active (if any) to add, how to seal moisture in, and how to not undo it all in the sun. Everything else is optional. Start with the order guide if you own products already and just want to know what goes on first; start with the beginners guide if you own nothing and want the shortest list that still earns its place on the counter. The one rule that decides most outcomes is restraint: layering four actives you read about on TikTok is the single fastest way to wreck your barrier, and a wrecked barrier looks exactly like the problems people buy actives to fix. Price is the least important variable here — a $12 cleanser and a $12 moisturizer, used consistently, beat a $200 shelf used chaotically. What you are really paying for at the top of the market is texture and fragrance, not results.
